Review of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) by Benjanzen — 13 May 2022

Sonic 2 increases the scale and stakes from the first, allowing for more set pieces and epic action sequences, but I still mostly found myself bored and uninterested. While I do think that this film successfully accomplishes what it sets out to do, and kids will absolutely love it, it's incredibly familiar and formulaic.

Weak jokes and inconsistent CGI with a bloated runtime that drags. Your enjoyment of this one will largely depend on how much you enjoyed the first instalment; personally, I thought this was a step down from the already mediocre first.
