One of the better video game to film adaptations you'll find. Sonic the Hedgehog is a light-hearted, fun, adventurous movie with great performances all around. Particularly, the movie features an incredibly enthusiastic performance from Jim Carrey that feels like it's pulled right out of 1994.
And it's awesome. As a narrative, it's nothing groundbreaking, but in the case of a movie about a talking blue hedgehog from a video game made in 1991, it didn't have to be. This movie respects it's source material so much that it will leave just about every Sonic fan satisfied.
