Review of Sorry to Bother You (2018) by Noahpfister — 27 Feb 2019
Ima make this short, sweet, and to the point. Sorry to Bother You is one of the most original and imaginative movies to be released within the millennia. I know that sounds like a hyperbolic statement, but it's true.
100%. What writer/director, Boots Riley, delivers is a darkly comedic, social commentary for the ages that will you leave you laughing and thinking all the way through. EVERY performance here is worthy of an award; even David Cross and Patton Oswalt who only deliver voice over work.
Lakeith is proving why more movies need him in it as he plays a down on his luck telemarketer who gets way over his head way too quickly. Tessa is...well, Tessa...so, good. Armie Hammer is... interesting.
That's all I'm gonna say. So in the end, we are left with a movie that's so original and so rewatchable that you won't be able to stop watching it and watching it again. It's worth your money.
