Review of Spider-Man 3 (2007) by Aaron W — 01 Oct 2018
Now don't get me wrong, there is some problems I've had with the third film, but Overall I enjoyed it. Before I address what I think is wrong with the film, I want to talk about the positives. One, for example, is how the movie does drive that emotional conflict Peter has, which is something Sam Raimi has done really well with the first two films.
The most emtion I've felt was when Peter was having flashback to Uncle Ben's death. I also like the emotional relationship he has with Harry and MJ. Another positive is the fighting action in the movie as well.
It has what I think is right and good. Now that we got some positives out of the way, here comes the negatives. Now I am not going to include emo Parker, because that doesn't really need describing.
However a real issue is the way Sam Raimi made Venom, it just didn't look like the Venom that we wanted to see. However it isn't all on Sam Raimi, as some know Venom wasn't originally to be in the film at first, but one of the producers pressured Raimi to include Venom.
One more negative is the character development of Sandman, aka Flint Marko. I personally think that Haden Church played the part well, it's just that it didn't get the character development I wanted, although I did feel sympathy for him, mostly because of his daughter.
Other than that I think Spider-Man 3 isn't the best in the franchise, but it is a solid movie on its own and has a good story to it as well.
