James McAvoy is a spectacular actor and really shows his skills in this movie with range and depth that isn't easy for a lot of actors.
M. Night Shyamalan is not the kind of writer / director that lets you get off easy, he does not wrap it up in a nice sweet package with a pretty bow for you to easily digest. This is a story that deals with the human condition(s) that leaves you with a sense of wonder and makes you question reality and choices people make and somehow find true human compassion in the depths of suffering.
