Where "The Force Awakens" succeeds most is at the surface level, as perfectly calculated Hollywood entertainment, revitalizing the old and introducing the new. But with JJ Abrams at the helm, there was no doubt that the film was going to be a spectacle.
.. whether it will stand the test of time was and still is the biggest question.
