Review of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) by Adam W — 18 Dec 2018
"Luke Skywalker has vanished" were not the words I wanted to see in the opening crawl as that told me there and then, the plot would focus on looking for Luke and then eventually finding him at the end of the film...
J.J Abrams you had such a golden opportunity to reunite Luke Han and Leia on screen but you chose not to...
You should have stuck with the original cast as the main characters with the new ones working alongside them from the very beginning. They would have been more accepted by the audience but instead we got the film we have today.
The character develoment of Rey was disappointing and Phasma was a novelty who had so much potential but was wasted as a "female Stormtrooper" gimmick.
The rest was just a mashed up version of the original 1977 film which was a let down from a creative point of view.
Overall I was underwhelmed and left the cinema hoping Episode 8 might be better.............
