Review of Starred Up (2014) by Will H — 15 Oct 2016
I cannot express how brilliant this movie is. Conflict, near-perfect character development, surprise, powerful theme, flawless acting. It's a dark film that has more hope than any supposed Hollywood "inspirational" story.
It is a classic movie that will be recognized as such for decades to come. It is violent and disturbing, but, like the characters in the movie, if you can get past that and just be a part of the experience, you will be richly rewarded.
