'Step' is an inspirational journey that would have faired better at 45 minutes. Like many feature docs it stretches every inch of a great story into a character study full-length film. It follows several high school girls in their senior year as they balance life, their beloved Step Team and their quest for college.
The filmmaker has heart, but it fell short of incorporating a lot of the strife of inner-city Baltimore. Final Score: 5.8/10.
