In sum: it's no American Anthem. I wanted to like this movie more, because I enjoy watching a good "teen overcomes the odds" movie involving activities like cheerleading, hip-hop dancing, ballet, ice skating, or gymnastics when I'm having a lazy Sunday at home.
This movie had promise to be a 4-star movie in this genre, but the ending is so over-the-top and yet trite all at the same time, it ruined it for me.
