Review of Strange World (2022) by Alpharebel — 27 Dec 2022
Very disappointing to be honest, I was looking forward to this given the pulp serial theme and advertising and there ARE some nice ideas here struggling to shine though the quagmire of nonsensical (and actively contradictory) BS.
The acting is pretty good however, even if the script isn't. The main family has decent characterisation, but given how short the runtime is it would be nice to have seen a little more character depth to the ancillary team instead we get another case of "here's a character we introduce.... 5 mins before killing them off because one of our main characters can do it better" and that's the main problem with this movie as while it looks lush (and it really does) it's not got much more going on then a script written by trawling TV Tropes.
