Review of Stranger Than Fiction (2006) by John S — 20 Apr 2012
There are very few films that possess the same charm, whimsy, wit, and freshness that make Stranger Than Fiction so special. It may not technically be a masterpiece, but it definitely feels like one.
With perhaps one of the most engaging scripts I've ever witnessed, Stranger Than Fiction is a marvelously enjoyable story with a uniquely clever premise that feels simultaneously satisfying and bewildering. It may not be the most logically sound of stories out there, but questioning the logic of a film about fiction is quite redundant. This doesn't mean that it is exempt from all flaws, but it does mean that its flaws could certainly inherently be essential to a story about flawed stories.
