A powerful and emotionally resonating story anchored in the phenomenal performances of Gyllenhaal and Maslany. Stronger depicts the brutally realistic aspects of trauma and recovery in profound detail to the point where it can be rather tedious and dull.
But there's no way of turning Bauman's incredible story into the motion picture it deserves without including every intimate moment.
