Review of Stuck! (2009) by J.b. R — 15 Jul 2012
Excellent little tabloid thriller from Stuart Gordon based on a true story. Underneath the fairly straight-forward (and sort of ridiculous) set-up is a grim undercurrent of societal decay and apathy toward others.
Suvari is great in the lead because as much as the viewer despises her inability to act, we can all sort of identify with it. Stephen Rea is also amazing in the difficult role he plays. The film builds tension nicely and is full of gore and black humor.
