Review of Sully (2016) by Drlowdon — 28 Jan 2022
Based on a true story, with which most people will be familiar, Sully focuses on the events and aftermath surrounding Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and First Officer Jeff Skiles after they are forced to land their passenger plane in the Hudson river.
As ever with these fictionalised versions of real life events opinion differs as to just how accurate it is, and certain elements have certainly be dramatized. That being said, the incredible events of that day in 2009 are always going to make for a compelling movie, and the ever reliable Tom Hanks is as good as ever in the lead role.
It’s not exactly an essential watch, but I can’t imagine many people coming away disappointed with what they’ve seen.
