Review of Superman: Brainiac Attacks (2006) by Conrad S — 02 Feb 2018
A good portrayal of Superman placed on the backdrop of a neo-futurist Metropolis, Superman: Brainiac Attacks was a present surprise for the old DC Animated Universe. The animation was at its usual high standard, and the action sequences were particularly involving.
The characters of Brainiac, Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen, and Lois Lane were as one-dimensional as usual. However, this is made up for by Clark Kent's well-made exploration in this film. As Clark Kent is Superman's only weakness, it is important to give time and effort to develop this character.
The story is as mundane as I have grown to expect from this series, but that does not stop Superman's shining character from shining through. I am glad that the universe ended on a high note.
