Review of Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon (2013) by Lee Anne W — 14 Dec 2014

I have a hard time imagining how this film got any sort of positive rating. The opening few minutes have celebrities say what a wonderful guy Shep Gordon is, and the last few minutes feature similar blandishments by famous musicians and actors.

In between we have 80 minutes describing an utterly self-absorbed, sexist, opportunistic, amoral guy. I'm not a prude, but after the fourth beautiful woman walks into his life and changes it utterly -- only to leave him a couple of years later -- it gets my moralistic dander up.

This truly isn't worth your time, folks. I don't like Shep Gordon, and I don't like this film. Hollywood self-indulgence at its worst.
