Review of Take Me to the River (2015) by Mique W — 14 Jun 2016
Take a family of rednecks, throw in an angsty, stereotypical "gay" kid (who's sexuality is never adequately broached or even used to make any significant impact on the story), and, an unstable mother, and you have something that is quite engaging, but mostly just vexatious.
Vexatious in the sense that this film could have been a lot more interesting if certain characters attempted to achieve closure via dialogue rather than play ambiguously dull and obvious mind games.
