Review of Taps (1981) by Kilo D — 30 May 2010
Incredibly lame. The plot could not be more contrived and stupid. The intended audience was probably young boys, as they would relate to and be enthralled by the kids-playing-as-soldiers theme, the gung ho-ness and the military ceremony.
It is amazing that a great actor like George C Scott agreed to star in this. Maybe he thought he could reprise his role as General George S Patton, or maybe he just needed the money.
It is even more amazing that Timothy Hutton, Tom Cruise and Sean Penn even had careers after appearing in this piece of crap.
