As someone who grew up with every version of the turtles, I can say 100% this movie was not made for true TMNT fans this was more for newcomers and casuals. Ever since the second Michael Bay movie dropped (which had the same plot presence of the turtles wanting to be accepted and like humans just like this movie) we started to move further and further from who the turtles are and had a huge drop in quality.

Rise of the tmnt wasn't good story-wise even though they tried fixing it way too late and the same can be said for this movie. They completely ruined the origins of the turtles, splinter, and the mutants not to mention Shredder nor the foot have any presence in the movie and now the turtles are going to go to high school like regular humans now.

One of the main points a few of the older iterations make is to accept who you are and be grateful of your life, though it might not be perfect. they should've just made a whole other movie if they were going to change so much and strip so much identity from the turtles I get that adaptations are supposed to be fresh and brand new but most adaptations pay respect to the OG source material.

Now the turtles go to high school like regular humans and Shredder is going to be a Kraven the Hunter type of villain in the sequel. They completely ruined the ninja turtle part for a new take on the teenager part and I hate the argument that people say they're finally acting like teenagers or they sound like teenagers they've always acted like teenagers just different generations of teenagers for that time period and not all teenagers have voices like that let's not forget that they're mutated turtles, not regular human beings.

The movie had some funny moments and a few cool easter eggs I'll give it that but it wasn't made for og turtle fans to fans up to the 2012 series this movie was made for the TikTok always on social media crowd and the late-gen z kids.

I remember a time when we used to get cool shows and movies and it's sad to see them butcher all of these characters and franchises like this.
