Review of Tenet (2020) by Joecool — 18 Sep 2020
The worst Christopher Nolan movie to date IMO. I loved Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, etc. but this one has serious problems. The acting is good, but the dialogues are hard to follow, at least after a single viewing. Character development is minimal, we never even learn the name of the main character and that's quite a hindrance to any sort of emotional investment.
Any movie that tries to explain time-travel in a pseudo-scientific way is going to irk me. Everything is pointless, there is no free will, everything already happened so everybody can just do whatever the frack they want, regardless of any consequences to anybody else, because that's what was supposed to happen anyway. Apocalypse, here we come! The oxygen, really? How did they came up with that inverted lungs crap? Absolute rubbish for a plot, not a good plan.
Some of the action scenes are worth watching, but all in all I really didn't enjoy this movie as much as I had hoped.
