Quite a different proposition to the first film, but equally enjoyable in its own frequently preposterous way. It was kind of impossible not to fall utterly in love with this film when you're still a teenage boy...I mean, who didn't want a pet robot in their teens?!
On the whole, a very clever reinvention of the original. And while it's in some ways inferior to the first, it has at least dated a bit better (thanks to a little thing called "CGI" that was starting to appear in movies).
