Review of Texas Killing Fields (2011) by Andy W — 22 Apr 2012
Cop thriller that strives for moody atmosphere (akin to the director's Dad's movies), but settles for dull and predictable. On the surface, all the cop investigation elements are present and correct, and for the undemanding viewer that might be fine - personally I felt I'd been here before and it was much more enjoyable first time around.
The first exciting moment occurs 75 mins in, and worst of all, the killer is obvious from the get-go. An unexceptional slog.
