Review of The 15:17 to Paris (2018) by Heather M — 23 Jun 2018
This isn't what I expected. We are so spoiled on MIssion Impossible, Die Hard, A Thin Red Line, and Saving Private Ryan. We don't know what this story looks like. It was pretty short lived versus Tom Cruise movies, but let's be real, Tom Cruise doesn't actually fight off terrorists, he doesn't fly planes, and he doesn't do hand to hand combat.
These guys did it (they didn't fly planes but they did everything else), and I'm disappointed in the raters who rated this so low. Were you expecting that? Even more so to the "professional raters" judge this the same way.
I'm not trying to put the movie down, I'm absolutely not. It's based off true events, that would've been extremely disappointing if they were carried out into full mission impossible. That's just not how it goes in real life.
So my rating on this is high, it's authentic, the acting is fresh, the story was interesting. I'm also a film student. I appreciate heart in films. I'm not a person that will rate Best in Show high and Super Troopers low.
And I'm a lady.
