Review of The Age of Adaline (2015) by Alex B — 08 Jan 2019
A mildy compelling film of two lovers distanced by time that falls flat in terms of plot development. The predictable nature of the story prevents complete investment and distracts from the initially interesting concept. While the historical references were appreciated, the scientific explanations central to the plot felt contrived. Beautiful cinematography and talented acting draws the viewer in, but overall the film could use a bit more subtlety.
- A + C.
