Review of The Armstrong Lie (2013) by Johnnylee T — 29 Dec 2015
Would have been better to have examined the context of the times more, especially as Armstrong defends himself by accusing everyone of cheating. Follows the bike racing at times a bit too much. But the film forces you to watch Armstrong lying and lying over and over until you feel sick in the stomach.
I wished the documentary maker didn't keep referring to him as Lance, "Armstrong" would have distanced himself more and made us feel he was being objective about the guy. Also, his conclusion that in a way we wanted to delude ourselves that Armstrong was clean and therefore should bear some of the responsibility that he wasn't caught out earlier, that is just ludicrous - when you have (unjustifiable) faith that the governing bodies are doing their job and Armstrong himself accusing his accusers of being liars (and worse), we can be forgiven for believing him.
