If death does not make concessions to anyone, then it is not clear whether it is more correct that the stories follow one another interchangeably as well as their twenty or so films or if it would have been better to dwell only on one episode giving the viewer the possibility to identify not with a metaphysical atmosphere but with a single destiny. Even less clear is why the Coens enjoy from the beginning to show off their misanthropy, as if they wanted to attribute to us and our brutal brutalization the cause of mortality instead of the opposite.
