Review of The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years (2016) by David B — 10 Nov 2016
I've been listening to and watching anything related to The Beatles for about 40 years. I've seen most of the documentaries including The Beatles Anthology. Ron Howard's "Eight Days A Week" was very engrossing.
Much of the footage and performances have been seen before. But to see rare unseen Amateur 8 mm films synchronized to live recordings was amazing. Overall the film restoration and sound remastering techniques were superb.
The interviews with Paul, Ringo, John and George had an intimacy never seen before. Howard brought out the soul of each of The Beatles. The interviews were mostly with the band , a few of their staff and close friends.
There were no comments or interviews from Brian Epstein their manager. I wonder why he was omitted since he was so instrumental in their career and live appearances . George Martin had a few comments but again should have been given more screen time.
Besides these omissions this was a great ride. It was wonderful and magical to hear the four of them making such a beautiful noise. DJ Berexa Pittsburgh, PA.
