Review of The Big Sleep (1946) by Kevin M — 10 Mar 2008
First of all, the story doesn't make a lick of sense. You can try to connect the dots, but you won't be able to.
But The Big Sleep proves definitively that none of that matters. The dialogue is delectable, filled with some of the smokiest dialogue this side of Double Indemnity. And Bogie was rarely better.
