I know when a film tries and The Boogeyman is one that tries over and over again and yet simply looks powerless to pull off the result, as all it can offer are the most basic features of the horror genre.

Unfortunately, when you want to mask the weak spots of the plot and the lack of strength when it comes to generating frightens other than presenting dark corridors and simple jump scares, no matter how hard you try you're not going to go anywhere that matters.

The Boogeyman as any other Stephen King adaptation had potential, what happens is that the people behind them don't know how to make the most of them.
