Review of The Book of Life (2014) by Michael C — 26 Nov 2017

The recent release of Pixar's "Coco" sparked my interest in seeing this movie. However I would not put this anywhere near the league "Coco" is in. While the animation is vivid and bright, I was constantly distracted by how poorly drawn the characters are.

And people thought the characters in 2004's "The Polar Express" looked bad! I also found myself not very engaged in the story or for that matter caring for any of the characters. While it is not a terrible movie, "The Book of Life" tries to hit the bullseye, but doesn't come close.
