Review of The Boondock Saints (1999) by Mikeg. — 28 Jan 2007
An absolute waste-product of a movie. Vapid and extremely amateurish, there is not a positive word I can muster. When I look at the cult popularity of this film, all I can do to keep myself calm is take note of the fact that most of the people who enjoy it were born after 1987.
Troy Duffy, the so-called director, is a ego-maniacal hack obsessed with violence while having absolutely nothing to say about it intellectually. And yes, I'm sorry but if you're going to make a film that explicitly deals with religion and violence - you had better bring a brain.
Watch the maddening documentary "Overnight" for undeniable evidence of Duffy's bloated sense of self.
