Review of The Boy (2016) by Josh C — 17 Jun 2018
Well despite the obvious Chucky like cheesyness of the script, I have to say this horror has done something to me that has hardly ever happened in a movie, it really frightened me. I actually found myself screaming, being so startled and freaked out.
The doll really is creepy... Chucky was just cheesy. This movie, has reallyl caught me off guard and genuinely frightened me, something which practically no horror movie besides the Exorcist has ever done.
. . and maybe Poltergeist (both of which I watched as a child, so no, now would probably not scare me). This movie really got me a few times. Besides its cheesy and unoriginal script, I have to give it that.
If you want to find yourself frightened and maybe jumping out of your seat, watch it. However, the ending was plain stupid, without spoilers the reality of the movie was a let down.
