Review of The Breadwinner (2017) by Adam R — 08 Aug 2018
This movie helped me open up a dialogue with my young sons about the terrible things going on in the world. It took themes that are typically shielded from children and made it beautiful and moving. Terrible, heartbreaking things happen in this movie, but kids can still watch because the story is delivered with magic and told by characters that show us why humanity is worth saving despite the ways we hurt each other.
This movie shines, ensnares, and soothes. It's marvelous.
