Review of The Cabin in the Woods (2012) by K L — 02 Nov 2013
Fresh off of the success of the Firefly series and its movie, Joss Whedon co-wrote a horror movie for the masses. A psychological thriller/horror/comedy that puts everything we know about horror movies on its head, paying homage and spoofing the genre at the same time.
Scene after scene are treats after treats, feeding our yearn for a refreshing breath of air that seem to have been dead in the horror genre, puns intended. Nothing is what it seems, no rocks unturned, slashing cliches after cliches, building one helluva fun movie.
This one is for the books.. of the dead.
