To a top critic. First of all, this movie does not take in what one would call a redneck never never land. It's slightly off-the-wall, but can't someone have a good laugh. If you look at what the critics say the hundred greatest films are, barely any of the top 10 have any humor whatsoever.
The exceptions are Gone With The Wind and Singin' in the Rain.
