Typical sequel, not as good as the first but still pretty good in its own right. Its definitely not gonna win any awards or consideration as great but if you like Vin Diesel movies, action, and sci-fi, its a good movie.
The only real complaint I have with this movie is that its overlongged and drags at times. Also it seems to pride itself too much on special effects and a big hollywood budget while Pitch Black was as indie as they come while still maintaining fan interest.
