Good transition, helps develop Riddick as the killing machine and badass he's hyped up to in both movies. Also gives you an idea just exactly where Tomes came from, and how he and Riddick had encountered each other before in Riddick.
Another kick is the Aeon Flux animation, I used to watch those all the time when I was younger. So for all you haters....boo.
