Have no idea what the critics are on about. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Despite a rather rushed first act that made me feel like there was part of the film missing (assuming this was done to advance the story quickly to the investigation of the reasons why.

But poor editing made the jump in timeline very jarring)That aside, I found the story compelling the characters interesting as they needed to be for a horror movie and the scares sufficiently creepy. I think many critics need to go into films like this in the same way I do.

Don't expect high art of ground breaking cinema. Just enjoy it for what it is.
