Review of The Constant Gardener (2005) by C T — 01 Aug 2014
While this movie has two respected actors to its name, it failed to hold my attention for the right reasons. An almost disingenuous love story between Weisz and Fiennes was the backdrop to a tragedy that left me less interested in the motive behind Weisz' characters' death, and more interested in the lengths Fiennes' character would go to avenge her.
This movie is decently paced, but does have an overall rushed feeling, as if scenes that might have developed the characters and plot more were cut from the final edit. Overall, The Constant Gardener was entertaining, but probably not a movie I'll see again.
