Review of The Curse of La Llorona (2019) by Carlosneto — 20 Oct 2020

I didn't enjoy it. AT ALL. Throughout the movies runtime all I remember doing was joking around with a friend that watched it with me because of how utterly boring the story was. It had weird choices taken by characters, a monster that makes irrational decisions that make no sense whatsoever even if you try to make it make sense, and relies only on the average jump scare to actually try and scare you.

I wouldn't recommend watching it if you want to actually be scared but I definitely recommend watching it if you like laughing at movies every once in a while (I certainly enjoy watching Shark Tale every now and again).

In conclusion, this feels like a money grab (although it didn't really succeed at this too) since James Wan's involvement make it possible for La Llorona to be part of the Conjuring Universe. Stupid characters, Stupid monster, Cliche.

.. basically disappointing.
