Review of The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001) by Buddy K — 28 Feb 2011
A rather mild comedy. Not an awful film but only amusing in a very mild way and could have been so much more. Perhaps the biggest problem is that Woody Allen is far to old for the lead part. Other problems include a premise that doesnt ever come close to reaching full potential and a underutilized supporting cast of great performers (Wallace Shawn in particular is wasted here).
Again, not an awful movie but even the most die hard Woody Allen will find it difficult to let out anything more than a mild chuckle.
