A true science fiction classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still has a fantastic premise that is very well executed and stands the test of time. The film also has very good special effects for 1951 that obviously look bad by today's standards, but are impressive to be 64 years old.
In addition, the film is rightfully very influential for the genre and you can really see why with just how entertaining and masterfully put together this one is. Overall, The Day the Earth Stood Still is just as harrowing and entertaining as it was 64 years ago.
