Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Chris B — 22 Dec 2011
Classic sci-fi at its best, this cautionary tale of an alien spacecraft's visit to Washington and the belligerent reaction of the American military renders this a must-see. Having seen Tim Burton's Mars Attacks first, I couldn't quite take this as seriously as I should have, and Flixster's listing of this as The Day the Earth 'Stoood' Still isn't helping.
I fear for the quality of the recent Keanu Reeves remake.
