Review of The Deviants (2004) by Alison P — 06 Jul 2005
[font=Comic Sans MS]Am about to embark on the 5th watching of the Deviants (obsessive much?) in two weeks. this gem of a flick is soo high-larious that I must share with all my gal pals, even got my type A workaholic hubby to sit his buns down and view the spectacle of oddities that is the Deviants with me.
This movie treasure was filed under Foreign at Hollywood vid but seems all american to me. The Deviants are clients of a matchmaking service specializing in folks whose passions may involve toe sucking self love, obsessive cleanliness, upside-down O's and MUCH more.
If John Waters got together with Alex Winters (see Freaked if you haven't already), you might get close to the hilarity of the Deviants. a few moments of bad acting are easily forgiven by the endearing quirkiness of the characters.
Starring Doug Dezzani who co-wrote, this movie hums with a laugh with us vibe that is hard not to fall in love with. Go out and get it! Let Oswaldo give you orgasmic pleasure. I promise it will be worth the digging you may have to do to find it, but be forewarned, I spit pepsi out my nose the first time I saw it and hope you do too.
