It's just disgusting. The violence is disgusting. The script is disgusting. And the characters are not only disgusting themselves, but incredibly unlikable all across the board. Lee Tamahori has made a movie that is not only extremely inconsistent in tone, but it's also a movie that thinks far too highly of itself.

It's a kaleidoscope of gratuitously gruesome and over-the-top violence, unmotivated sex and nudity, and performances that are so headache-inducing that it drags the movie down from simply a pretentious biopic to a laughably bad military thriller.
