Review of The Door in the Floor (2004) by Anna B — 06 Dec 2009
Bridges, on superb form here as the conflicted writer, is capable of portraying someone unlikeable whilst maintaining our sympathy so when he treats the radiant Ms. Basinger like a piece of old luggage, he almost has us convinced it's for her own good.
The affair with the boy is a by-the-numbers MILF fantasy and would have been quite a turn-on except for the puny milk-white limbs of the gormless Loomis. The rest of the cast seemed to have been bused in from other movies to bolster Bridge's performance and it's a tribute to him that he manages to keep our interest until its disappointing ending.
