Without a particular structure and with lack of back story, The Drop leaves the audience confused and not really knowing the main story line and the point overall. I am wondering if the point was - Crime people could be fair to animals, although they are not to people OR One time criminal, always criminal - both not enough deep and developed in the movie.
Cuteness of the dog captured my attention in most of the movie time.
