Review of The End of the Tour (2015) by Tim M — 29 May 2017
The End of the Tour is a decent film about one very long conversation and that's the whole point, the dialogue is taken directly from a lengthy David Foster Wallace interview done back in '96. However, nothing more is really gained by re-enacting all that talking except for the somber intrigue of watching and listening to the words of a man whose fate you already know.
What keeps you watching is a great performance by Jason Segel and the confusion you feel for a brilliant human being who reached the top of the world, looked out, and saw nothing.
