Even without a lot of familiarity with legendary writer David Foster Wallace's work going in, The End of the Tour is still one of the year's best, anchored by expectedly fantastic work from Jesse Eisenberg and a transformative, career-best performance from Jason Segel.
It's a ridiculously smart, poignant and achingly human examination of a brilliant, fascinating figure, the interviewer who feels as much admiration for him as he does jealousy, and the brief yet profound and meaningful time they spent together.
